Materials

Materials are at the heart of everything we do. We carefully select leathers, soles and details from trusted suppliers, choosing each material for how it feels, ages and performs over time. Each product is handcrafted in Italy using genuine leather, a natural material where no two pieces are exactly alike. Small variations, marks and irregularities are part of its unique character, making every pair truly one of a kind.

NABUK

Nubuck is made by sanding the grain side of the leather (the outer side) with fine sandpaper, creating a soft, velvety texture with a refined, matte finish. This process distinguishes nubuck from suede, which is made by sanding the flesh side of the leather (the inner side). Sanding the grain side gives nubuck a finer texture and a more luxurious feel. The special "Idro" treatment enhances the leather's resistance to water and stains.

VELOUR

Suede (Velour) is made by sanding the flesh side of the leather (the inner side), giving it a soft, slightly fuzzy texture with a rich, matte finish. This process creates a more open and delicate surface compared to nubuck, resulting in a plush and velvety feel. The "Idro" treatment enhances the leather’s resistance to water and stains.

CAPRICORNO

Capricorno is a type of full-grain leather made from cow, known for its fine, natural texture and soft feel. It is made from the grain side of the leather, which is left mostly untouched to preserve its natural markings and strength. This results in a smooth yet slightly textured surface with a subtle shine or luster on a surface. Capricorno leather is valued for its durability and ability to age beautifully over time, developing a rich patina.

KIPS

Kips is made from the hides of calfs, which gives it a more uniform surface and a refined, supple feel. Kips leather has a fine, smooth surface with a slightly firmer feel compared to other calf leathers. While it retains the softness of calfskin, its grain is more pronounced, giving it a slightly more textured appearance.

VITELLO

Vitello is a type of calfskin leather, typically from younger calves than those used for Kips. The leather is finer and more uniform than Kips, with a consistent, almost flawless surface. Vitello leather has a lighter, more supple feel, with a subtle sheen that enhances its refined appearance. Vitello develops a beautiful patina over time, but it maintains its smooth, sleek finish throughout its lifespan. While it is durable, its softness makes it less firm compared to Kips, offering a softer, more luxurious feel.

TAURUS / BOGOTA

Taurus is a type of full-grain leather known for its strength and distinctive texture. It is typically left more untreated or minimally processed in terms of surface smoothing. Taurus leather is more textured because it comes from the hides of mature cows, which tend to have a more pronounced and varied grain compared to younger animals like calves. As mature cows have lived longer, their hides typically feature more natural markings, wrinkles, and pores, giving the leather a more rugged and textured appearance and adding character to each piece. Taurus maintains a soft, supple feel, which allows it to mold to its shape over time, developing a rich patina.

TROPEZ / NAPPA

Tropez / Nappa is made from the hides of calves or lambs, which have finer, more supple skins compared to older animals. The leather is distinguished by its exceptionally smooth and even surface, it is incredibly soft to the touch, with a silky feel. The leather is processed to remove most natural imperfections or grain texture, giving it a refined and glossy appearance. Nappa can also be relatively thin, which adds to its supple feel.
